County Chess Win

Great victory for Boreatton Scouts. Winning the county wide chess competition for Shropshire Borders. The fierce competition had scouts from all over Shropshire battling it out on a bank of professional chess boards with official timing clocks etc.

Well done team!

National Scout Archery Championships

Shropshire won 7 medals, 5 of them Gold. Two came back to Boreatton, Ben won the U14 Field Archery and Luke (Explorer Leader) just beat Pete and Phil to take Gold in the O18 Field Archery. Well OK, he thrashed us, but it was only because they are both left handed.
WELL DONE TO BOTH OF THEM.

Lego Robotics Win!

BERT7e wins the day! Each year the Robo team pretend to muck about, not listen, ignore the work, play music and eat the chocolate, whilst secretly working diligently as soon as my back is turned - I fall for it every year thinking that they they are completely unprepared, and then they go to the competition and win!

The BEASTs had another great day, at Birmingham this year and are off to the National Finals in another three weeks after winning the Robot Performance and Champions Awards at the West Mids Regional Finals of the First Lego League STEM competition. We also won a awesome lego trophie, well done Team Bora-tton!

Nantional Rifle Competition at Bisely-Again

Our most successful competition yet with some great shooting and bronze and silver precious metal to bring home. Lorna came 3rd in the 6yd Air Rfle main event under 18 (and actually only one over 18 could beat her score!) and Charlie just outside the medals coming 5th in the under 12s. Evie came 7th in the full bore, and we had a handfull of others in top 20 places. And Alan came second in the full bore! Great camp as always, and we'll organise a final session for this year's team to shoot for badges in a week or so... Well done everyone!

Lego Robotics Regional Final

Hurrah! We won the prize for the noisiest team at the Lego Robotics Regional Final at Manchester University!!!

PS We also won the Robot Design Trophy and the Director's Trophy as overall winners of the Regional competition if you hadn't heard already!

Nantional Rifle Chapmionships Win

The team all shot really well at the National Rifle Champs - up against the best!
Ben shot really well on the Main event Field Target, and finished just outside the medals, and New Matt won Boreatton's first NSARC medal, getting silver in the smallbore - this is not shot in age groups, but against everyone! Hurrah!!!! Woop-Woop!!!!! Well done Matt!
